Reminder for all parents re school uniform

It’s been lovely to see the children return to school and looking so smart - they all need warm coats… with their names in please as we have many duplicates.  Just a reminder that trainers are not suitable for school footwear - school shoes need to be black, waterproof and suitable for wearing to school - trainers, fabric ballet pumps, boots higher than ankle high are not part of school uniform and should be kept for wearing outside school - thank you.  There were obviously some lovely hair accessories received as presents over Christmas but unless they are school colours and small bow size they should be kept for outside school too.  We also seem to have lots of things being brought in in rucksacks - small toys, card games, multiple key rings with large fluffy attachments etc - these can cause issues if lost or broken so could we ask for your help that they are kept at home too - thank you for your support.

Message for Y2 Parents re PE Kit

Due to the temporary break from swimming for Y2, Y2 need PE kit (in a small draw string bag that’s able to fit on their peg) ready for next Thursday morning as their PE day is now on a Thursday rather than Wednesday.   School uniform is to be worn on a Wednesday.

Message for Y5 Parents re Coleshill and September 2020 Y6 Residential Trip

To end our topic on WW2, the year 5 children will be visiting Coleshill Estate on 12th February 2020.  During their trip, the children will explore an underground bunker and will get the chance to train to become a WW2 spy! We will provide more information on what is needed for the day closer to the time. For now, please give your consent and make payment via Parent pay. You will be able to do this after Monday.  Payment contributions are voluntary but obviously if we do not get enough contributions we will be unable to go on the trip.  If you would like to discuss the contribution or need support please pop in to the School Office.
When this year's cohort of Y5's are in Y6, they will be going on a week's residential to Rock UK - the initial parent meeting is on the 20th January at 5:15pm at school, where we will give you lots of information - children welcome to attend too.

Church at Tadpole Garden Village - This Sunday!

Happy New Year from St Andrew’s Church and the Church @TGV team!
We’ll be in the school hall this Sunday afternoon (12th) from 4-5pm looking forward to drinking tea, eating cake, making boats (?!), thinking about the Bible, praying, singing and making new friends.  Please come and join us.

Reminder re Books for School Tokens

Don't forget to send in any Books for schools tokens that you have collected! Drop them off at the school office or give them to your child's class teacher.
Tokens will stop being printed in The Sun on Saturday 18th January 2020, so still time to get collecting!

Midwinter Plant thank yous

Many thanks to the Tadpole Garden Village Garden Club who supplied and planted 3 "Midwinter Fire"  Cornus plants in a vacant spot.

iCAT Project reminder re return of forms - Y4/5/6

As mentioned in the blog before Christmas, we at Tadpole Farm have the opportunity to help others in the future.
Statistics show that more and more young children are struggling with worries and concerns. Our school is working with a team of researchers at the University of Oxford on a large-scale research project called iCATS.  The iCATS team wants to develop a short questionnaire to help identify primary school children who would benefit from support and strategies. As part of the process, the team needs contributions from families with a variety of backgrounds and needs.
On Tuesday, we  sent home more information about the project and parent consent forms, hoping as many families as possible will get involved!
Please fill in the form and return to us by Friday 17th January

Parking Around Tadpole Garden Village

Please can you make sure that you are not blocking people's drives or parking in numbered/designated spaces as some of our neighbours are finding themselves unable to park in their own spaces at school time.  Thank you.
