Update from Friends of Tadpole Farm AGM

A massive thank you to those who attended our AGM this week. We will send an email out this week with the minutes from the meeting but last year FOTF made just over £6000 for the school from Cake Sales, Discos, Christmas Cards, Carols by Candlelight Refreshments, the Christmas Raffle, the Scarecrow Trail, Quiz Night, Ice Cream Sales and the Summer Fair/ Raffle. We were able to use that money to fund an art project in school, buy items to future proof our events (tables/ storage/ electrical equipment) and fund the Year 6 leavers party. We have money in the account ready to consult with the staff/ pupils as to how to use it this year. Our main aims this year is to get our charity status and enforce the constitution. We need more help and have some roles that don't require a lot of time to do but would help us to make a massive difference. The committee can help support all the roles but are looking for some help with the below.

Can you help with any of the following?
Bingo and Quiz coordinator- Organise a team to run the Rock ‘n’ Roll Bingo event Term 2. Organise a team to run a Quiz Term 3/4
Raffle Prize Coordinator- Building relationships with local businesses to source raffle prizes for our Christmas and Summer Raffles. This would mainly comprise of contacting businesses/individuals and collecting the prizes.
Second Hand Uniform- Sort and organise donations. Organise regular uniform sales
Class Reps- Help to organise a group of parents from your child’s class to run a cake/lollipop after school on a Friday once a term. FOTF has tables, card machines that you can use and we are happy to help you advertise the event. You will need to buy the cakes/lollipops/other items you will be selling. The money you make will go straight back into your child's own class to buy extra resources!
Trustees- We need x4 people to volunteer as trustees as we register to become a charity. They are only required to attend x2 meetings- AGM and one other. The purpose of their role is to check we are operating properly

Our next event is Rock n Roll Bingo Weds 13th Nov 7:30-9:30pm. We will send more information about purchasing tickets shortly but please put it in your diary and start getting friends together to come. Please email if you can help at all.

Football Match Report
We need to say a MASSIVE THANK YOU to Mr Philpot and Abbey Park School for letting us use their Astro Turf pitch while ours is currently under water. Also, huge thanks to our amazing parents who altered their plans at such short notice as our game over ran due to a late start. Mr Spencer and I were extremely grateful!
Before I even had the chance to pick up a pen, Tadpole found themselves two goals up after early finishes from Kaden. Sadly, I missed his first goal but just caught his second as he was able to use his quick feet to move the ball across his body before slotting into the bottom corner. Zack then saw his longe range effort go narrowly wide just before Gorse Hill struck the crossbar with a cracking effort, leaving Muhammad's goal still shaking moments later. It wasn't too long before Tadpole had the ball in the back of the net again after Dominik capitalised on a defensive mistake. Tadpole had several chances to increase their lead with the best coming from Dominik, Briel and Dion (whose effort struck the post and bounced off Briel's face and went just wide). The boys were 3-0 up at half time but came back out a little sloppy. After a defensive lapse we conceded a penalty which Gorse Hill converted. Tadpole were back up the other end though, as a great move saw Joseph strike the post. The game was end to end - a great counter attack saw Gorse Hill score their second of the match, closing the deficit to 3-2. However, before long we were back to our two goal advantage, as a great move from back to front saw Briel slot home his first of the game. The boys then started to gain some momentum as we were creating more and more chances, our best coming from Joseph as he rounded the keeper only to be denied by the post again. The Gorse Hill goalkeeper shouldn't be disheartened as he made some cracking saves to keep his team in the game - without him the score may of been more one sided. Our final goal came from Dion after he was quickest to react to a defensive mix up. The result sees us through to the next round of the Shield competition. Final Score Tadpole 5 v 2 Gorse Hill.

New email address for newsblog reminder
As part of reviewing processes and procedures, we will be using a new sent from address for the ‘newsblog is live’ email that is sent each week.  The address will be and will be an unmonitored email box.  If you want to query something on the newsblog please send your emails to  If you inadvertently reply to the newsblog email, you will receive an automated reply telling you that it is an unmonitored inbox and asking you to resend your query to, who will answer within school hours.  For those of you that have been with us a while, you will know that I do try and reply to any enquires you send to me following the newsblog…  but the volume is now becoming unmanageable and often the response is one which can just as easily be answered by others. I hope this improvement will mean that all your queries will be answered within a more timely fashion.

Message for YN Parents
Over half term please could YN Hedgehogs children collect and bring in pine cones for us to use for our Christmas craft activities. We need enough for everyone so your help would be much appreciated! Thank you, The Nursery Team.

Message for Y2 Parents
Hopefully all of the children are excited for our trip to We the Curious tomorrow! We ask that children come in their uniform please but they are welcome to wear comfier shoes (trainers for example). They will also need a backpack to carry their water bottle and lunch in. We look forward to telling you all about our day - look out for photos on seesaw!

Message for Year One and Year Two

On our first day back (Tuesday 5th November) we are asking that all Key Stage One children bring in some winter clothes eg. hat, scarf, gloves as we will be going on a polar expedition to kick start our new topic!

We are also planning a group project for our burrow which needs rather a lot of milk bottles so any clean, plastic milk bottles would be gratefully received by KS1 - Thank You!
