2018/19 Newsblog Term 6 Week 4

Hello All

What a week of weather extremes we have had!  Many apologies again for the cancelling of sports day, the rain stopped play quite dramatically - we know that many of you look forward to it and would have liked us to re-run on another day but this term’s calendar is full with trips, Bikeability, transitions days (both within schools and for our Y6’s) and commitments to staff training ready for next academic year and, given all of those events, we could not reschedule. Luckily the weather was much better… even possibly too hot… for the summer fayre.  I must admit to feeling quite emotional when I saw how busy the fayre was and compared it to the first summer fayre we had, as a small school of just 90 pupils, when we opened… on behalf of the staff and pupils at Tadpole I’d like to say a massive heartfelt thank you to the dedicated team of FOTF committee members and additional volunteers who made the fayre possible - we really do appreciate all you do - thank you to all of you who came and spent money at the fayre - your generosity will make an enormous difference to the experience of the children at Tadpole.

FOTF Summer Fayre Thank Yous
We would just like to say a massive thank you to everyone who supported the Summer Fayre yesterday. Not only volunteers who stood out on the games stalls, BBQ, Taste of Africa and all the other attractions but to all the people who have supported the event behind the scenes, these people who have gone out of their way to source and make raffle prizes, those people who have spent hours filling cups or folding raffle tickets. Each and everyone of you make a difference, we can not run these events with just a couple of people and this event just goes to show that each one of these little jobs done behind the scenes, on the day or the days after when things just need sorting and tidying away can really make an amazing event.

We would also like to say a heartfelt thank you to the Tadpole Farm team, many of which gave up one of their days off to come and support the event, we really do appreciate the help that was given running up to the Summer Fayre and on the day itself, again many of the team have been supporting the FOTF by sourcing raffle prizes, printing documents and helping to get the areas outside Fayre ready.

And finally to all of you who came along to this years Summer Fayre on the hottest day of the year......Thank you!! We appreciate everyone who came along with their families to take part in our biggest fundraiser of the year, as you know all of the profits raised from these events go straight back in the school to fund activities, projects and things to enrich our children's time at Tadpole Farm.

Thank you once again as soon as we have counted all the monies taken we will let you know how much the event raised.
Raffle winners will be contacted if prizes were not claimed on the day.  A massive congratulations to Jane B who won the very first 'TGV Bake Off' and to Poppy R in Year 6 who won the children’s category.

Kirsty 🙂:)

Church at Tadpole Garden Village – Sunday 14th July 4pm
It was lovely to see some new faces at our last Church at Tadpole Garden Village and such a great level of engagement in the prayer space activities.
Our next gathering is on Sunday 14th July at 4pm. This will include refreshments, music, Bible story, prayer and activities for children. This time we’ll be staying on afterwards for a barbeque at 5pm, so you can come to just the service or just to the barbeque or both.  If you want to come to the barbeque it would be really useful if you could let us know before hand. Tickets cost £3 for adults and £1 for children and are available here.
Hope to see you then.
