Come and join our Local Board (Governors)
Are you willing to give up some of your time to give back to your local community?  If so , Tadpole Farm CEPA needs you as a Community or Parent Governor.

Being a Governor is challenging yet rewarding.   It gives me a chance to make a real difference in the children's lives and also give back to the local community.  I became a Governor because I am passionate about education and have a drive to see children learn and be their best.

As a Governor, I attend meetings on a regular basis (at least once per month) and we bring our own experiences of life to inform the discussions.  We bring the experience and skills from our day job into the governing body to enhance decision making and to make it effective.

So what do we do as Governors?

Visit the school to observe and understand how the children are learning.  It is always a thrill to hear an excited pupil eloquently explain what they have discovered or learnt during a lesson.
Monitor the progress and attainment of the pupils' performance and challenge when necessary.
Oversee the financial performance of the school and monitor how the money is spent.
Ensure that the Pupils and Teachers at Tadpole Farm are safe and happy within the school environment.

Get in touch via jane.leo@tadpolefarmcepa.co.uk  ...You do not have to know anything about education, as training and support is available...so come...help us make a difference.

Football Team News
Our footballers had another outing last week and, whilst they played really well, the score didn’t reflect the closely fought match.  Unfortunately, the team found themselves on the end of a defeat to a very good Orchid Vale side. Despite the boys losing 5-0, even when losing they were still looking to pass the ball to each other and showed great sportsmanship in defeat. Without a a great defensive display from Owain and Daniel and of course our mighty shot stopper Muhammad the score could have been greater. Great effort from the team.

FOTF Meeting Update
Thank you to all those who came along to the first FOTF meeting this school year.  Laura Harrison has stepped up as Chairperson and Laura Firth as Secretary.  We are looking for a Treasurer to join them… you don’t have to be called Laura!... and we’d really appreciate year group coordinators and a deputy chairperson. Please get in touch if you could take on these vital role. We have teams working on Christmas Card production and running a Christmas disco for the children.  Niki Wilding and Sammi Lamb will be taking care of Class List, so sign up to the app for FOTF news.  It would be great if someone would take on running the community coffee mornings – they provided a support network for both school and wider community but it needs a small team to take this on – perhaps you and some of your friends would build a small team to run this.
The group made plans that are achievable and will provide funding for additional resources for all the children.  They are working towards funding a whole school art project in Term 3 that will be part of our RE and Spirituality Through the Arts week plus part funding and sitting on the panel for our Dragon’s Den event for Y4/5/6  to develop the outdoor area by the Y5/6 classrooms that every child will use on their journey through school.
Fundraising plans that will be put in place are a Christmas Hamper Raffle, to be drawn at the Carols by Candlelight event; Christmas card packs, to be designed by the children in next two weeks and available for sale around the October holiday; Christmas disco for Y1-3 and Y4 -6 on Wednesday 12th December, more details to follow; term 3 will see a cinema night in school for children and term 4 another quiz night for adults, which was a hugely popular event last year.
Please get on board with this new committee and help us to expand the opportunities and resources for your children.

News from St Andrew’s Church
Church at Tadpole Garden Village will be happening again next Sunday 14th October at 4pm.  We meet in the school hall, starting with refreshments then have a time of live music, Bible story, talk for adults and craft for children and prayer.  We’ve always finished by 5pm.  It would be great to see you, whether you haven’t been to church for years or regularly go to a different church.  The theme this month is ‘Jesus the healer’.
