Nut Free Reminder
Please can you help support our children and staff who are extremely allergic to nuts by keeping our school a nut free zone.  No children or adults should be bringing any nut based snacks or foods in to school - this applies to snacks brought in to school for after school clubs, even if run by external groups, as the nuts may be dropped in the hall and left there - we have let external groups know too.  Thank you for helping us keep these members of our community safer.

Community Policing Links and Initiatives

Our new community office is PCSO Tom Scourfield and he will be in school every couple of weeks getting to know the children and building up positive relationships.  The police have already been in talking to our Y5/6 children about E-Safety and we are hoping to be part of two longer term projects – one is setting up a police group for Year 5 led by a serving police office and another is an Early Intervention Scheme that provides specific mentoring for young people who need additional support.  This scheme has previously run, very successfully, with secondary pupils and they now have funding to expand it in to primary schools. If you feel your child would benefit from some 1:1 mentoring please contact school and Mrs Salter, who is leading this initiative, will discuss the criteria for the scheme with you.

Message for YN Parents
Please could all Hedgehogs, who are in on Wednesday, bring in their favourite toy to show/share with their friends in their class. Please only bring one item each. After half term, as all children have now had time to settle into Hedgehog class, we will be asking that no more toys are bought in from home please, so this is a last chance to celebrate and share our favourites!

Message for Y6 Parents
The children will come home this week with a pack of information about the residential
trip including kit lists, medical details and timings.  If you have any last minute queries please catch Mrs Leo or Miss Weston at the school gate in the mornings or come along to the drop-in session on 8th November at 6:45 pm. The children will be having regular times to ask questions about the visit during this week and the first week back. The staff going with the children are Mrs Leo, Miss Weston, Mr Kirby and Mrs Plumridge.  Mrs Leo will be coming back to school during Wednesday and Mrs Wilding will be joining the group for the last two nights so Mrs Leo can be in school Thursday and Friday.

School Photo Reminder
Proof photos went home last week with the children and all orders must be in school by 3.30pm Friday 9th November. For any families where parents are separated, please ask the parent who has the photo for the ref code under the picture and order online  - the web access code which is SD618.

School Milk Availability
The School Food Plan legislation states that children of all ages should have access to milk during the school day.  Our school milk scheme is administered by Cool Milk.  To register your child for school milk, please visit "

If you have already registered your under 5s using our bulk registration process, parents are still able to register using the form/website. This provides them with the opportunity to make payment for milk when their child turns 5, in line with School Food Plan legislation.

Some providers have sent PDFs so I have attached these to the email informing you of the newsblog as they are too long to screenshot.

Dear Parents/Guardians,

With only one full week remaining of term the October holidays will soon be upon us.

We have our three day mainstream development course, goalkeeping course, girls only and multi sports inclusion courses (for children with SEN and physical disabilities) taking place on 30th, 31st October and 1st November and currently still have places available.

The children will have the opportunity to play on our inflatable pitch (weather permitting), have a tour of the stadium and receive a goodie bag at the trophy presentation. If the weather is poor, we have a partnership with Thamesdown Transport so the children will travel safely by bus and be coached indoors.

To book your place, please follow the link. If you have any further questions, please contact or call 01793 421303.

If you have already booked your place, please disregard this email.

Kind Regards,
The Community Trust Team
