Harvest Service

Our Harvest Service, which will be led by our Key Stage One Children (Y1 &Y2), is on Tuesday 2nd October at 9.15 in the School Hall.  We ask the children bring in £1 plus a dried food item such as cereals, pasta, tins, long life milk etc, which will be donated to the Swindon Food Collective – the group that has taken over Swindon Foodbank when the funding for that support service was cut – you can find out more about them bu following this link -
As our school numbers are growing, specific celebration services will be led by different key stages and parents of those children will be invited to the service.  All parents will be invited to one specific celebration service; their own child's class worship; all parents will be invited to Carols by Candlelight and the End of Year Service provided that the weather allows us to hold these outdoors and there is an open invitation to one Friday Celebration worship a term – see diary above.

Emergency Contact Details

A reminder from the office to please make sure you have returned your updated Emergency Contact sheets. If your child has just started with us, please make sure you have also presented your child’s long version of their Birth Certificate to the office.

Dinner Orders
We have had a number of children bring in lunch boxes on days where a school dinner has been ordered for them. This can cost the school £20 plus each day. Please can we ask that you check which days you have ordered dinners for so that we can try to reduce the wasted food and cost to the school.

Now that the weather seems to be changing please make sure that all children have a coat in school every day even if it looks like it is going to be sunny!  We like to be out and about in all weathers.

Tapestry for YR & YN Parents

In Reception and Nursery, we use an online App called Tapestry to record your children's learning over the year through photos and observation notes.
You will be able to access these during the last two weeks of each term to share the exciting learning your child has been doing.
Over the next week you should receive an email from Tapestry to the email address you supplied us with. The email will tell you how to access your Tapestry account ready for when we open the access.
When you activate your account you can then see what your child has been doing during their first term at school! It will then close again at the end of the new term so that we can collect more observations.

If you do not receive an activation email, please check your junk mail and if not then please let us know.

Message for YR Parents
The Reception children have settled really well during their first full days. Now that there are 60 children, we ask that parents say goodbye at the door rather than come into the cloakroom. This also helps them to build their confidence and independence. If they are confident they could also meet a friend at the front of the school and use the drop zone from 8.30am – many of our children already do this and there are lots of helpers around to make sure your child knows where to go.
A reminder that all Reception Children will need to have their own book bag and not a rucksack in school. If your child brings additional clothes to school, we suggest these come to school in a plastic bag that can be placed inside their PE Bag.

Reminders – PE Kit, Named clothing
PE Kit Reminder - Please ensure that all children have a named PE kit in School from Monday. Many of the children have not yet brought in their PE Kits and the children are already enjoying a range of PE activities.  Y2 children do not need PE Kits in school as they come in wearing theirs on a Wednesday.
Named Clothing – there is lots of lovely, identical, new clothing in school and much of it unnamed… please take a few minutes to use a permanent marker and just write your child’s name in their clothes this weekend – it helps you, them and us when things go missing!

Compost Donations

Thank you to the parent/parents that donated the two large bags of compost, that we found waiting for us on Monday morning; they are much appreciated. If anyone would like to donate bags of compost we would be very grateful.

FOTF Meeting
The Friends of Tadpole Farm will be meeting on Thursday 4th October at 7pm. Please come and join us as we embark on a new year of fundraising fun!
