2017/18 Term 6 Welcome Back

Hello All

Hope you have all had a lovely early summer break and enjoyed the good weather that has been around most of the time. Here we are at the start of term 6 and what an exciting term it is – the children will be spending some days in their new classes ready for September; some classes have trips still to come; our FOTF are busy arranging cake sales, ice cream sales and the summer fayre; we have sports week, science week and the end of year performance and, amidst all of that, we have lots more learning and sharing our community with each other.

This Term’s Value is Forgiveness

We will be focusing on the value of forgiveness this term and thinking about what it feels like to make a mistake, and that making mistakes is something we all do; what we should do if our mistake hurts others, how to say sorry meaningfully; how God forgives us all and how He expects us to forgive each other too. The pdf document attached to the newsblog email will give you ideas about how to discuss this at home too.

News from St Andrew’s Church

Next All-Age Service at Tadpole Farm

The next Church at Tadpole Garden Village Service is on Sunday June 17th at 4pm in the main hall.  As always there’ll be refreshments, activities for children, something for adults to think about and worship for everyone. This time there’ll be a sheepy theme. Everyone is welcome, whether or not you normally attend another church.
The final service before the summer holidays will be at 4pm on Sunday 15th July, this will be followed by St Andrew’s summer barbeque.  More details to follow.
Hope to see you then.

Walk to School Week – Keeping it going!

A big thank you to everyone who participated in our Walk to School week. 48% of children walked part or all of the way to school which certainly eased the congestion in our car park, so thank you! The children really enjoyed walking and getting their stickers to celebrate staying fit and active and looking after our environment. If you can keep it up, please do!

20 is Plenty Competition Winners
A huge thank you to Crest Nicholson for sponsoring the 20 is Plenty competition for the roads through Tadpole Garden Village.  You will have seen and be seeing the signs made by Rheya, Charlie and Lucas, who, not only had their designs made in to signs for all to see, but also were presented with £100 worth of Cotswold Wildlife Park vouchers - what lucky children.  Crest has asked me to pass on to the staff and children their thanks for the enthusiastic support and participation of Year 3, and importantly, wanted you to know how much they appreciate the most wonderful creative talents of your children.

FOTF Update

Thank you to everyone for supporting the ice lolly sales. We are still looking for volunteers to run the sale. We need people to buy the lollies, set up from 3, sell and pack up afterwards.
We are still requesting raffle prizes so if you work for a company or know someone that may be able to help us we would be very grateful. Copies of the raffle prize request letter are available in school reception or alternatively we can
email it to you.
Our cake sale will be on Thursday 7th June from 3.10 onwards. We are fortunate to have some fantastic bakers within our school community so it should be a real treat!
Please bring your donations in to school reception anytime on Thursday. We will be looking for support with setting up, selling and cleaning up in the day.
Please email our Chair Kristina via the school email address if you can help or support us in anyway.
LilyPad update

Priority booking has now closed for Breakfast and ASC current users and we can confirm there spaces now.
We are now offering anyone new eg already attending school but not using Lilypad and new starters for September to sign up and we will try our best to accommodate them to a maximum of 56 for safety. Anyone wishing to do so please use the following link to sign up and we will confirm if we can accommodate.

Reminders – Year 3/4/5 PE Kit

Could all Y3/4/5 children please make sure they have their PE Kit in school on Monday 4th June please as you will need it.  PE kit is black shorts, white plain t-shirt, no vests/coloured or logo’d t-shirts please.
All children will need their PE kit in school this week but Y3/4/5 will need theirs on Monday.

Reminders – YR Drop Zone for ALL children

All children, from YR to Y5, will now come in through the double gates by the Drop Zone.  This will mean that YR staff can be on hand to greet children and parents at the drop zone and will help those independence skills develop ready for the move in to Year 1.
